At its meeting on July 11, the Rensselaer County Legislature unanimously approved a $111,088,177 budget for Hudson Valley Community College for the 2017-2018 fiscal year beginning Sept. 1.

The budget calls for a modest tuition increase of $100 per semester, keeping the college’s overall cost as one of the lowest in the SUNY system.

In addition, county legislators praised the college’s service to students and the greater community while honoring retiring vice presidents, Joel Fatato and Jim LaGatta, with special resolutions.
