The Capital Region NY2 Chapter of the Blue Star Mothers of America Inc. , in partnership with USA Cares and the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation, will be hosting a 5k Run/Walk to on Sept 11, 2011 at Washington Park in Albany NY.
This run will honor the memory of NY Firefighter Stephen Siller, who died on Sept. 11, 2001, after running 3 miles to get to the World Trade Center towers. It is an annual run in New York City on the last Sunday in September with a this inaugural tandem event in Albany on the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks.
It is hoped the event will attract 500 to 1000 runners/walkers and spectators this year and to grow in subsequent years.
Runners and walkers are invited to participate.
