The college’s 15th annual Viking Challenge was held on Wednesday evening, Apr. 13, in the BTC Meeting Rooms, with 11 local high schools sending teams:
Academy of the Holy Names
Albany High School
Berlin High School
Lansingburgh High School
Maple Hill High School
Middleburgh High School
North Warren High School
Tamarac High School
Troy High School
Waterford-Halfmoon High School
Watervliet High School
The winners were:
First Place–Tamarac
Second Place–Lansingburgh
Third Place–Watervliet
The first-place school received a Netbook donated by Lenovo and each of the three team members received a $500 scholarship to attend Hudson Valley.
All members of the three winning teams also received scientific calculators donated by Jim LaGatta and each of the three teams received Encyclopedia Britannica Reference software donated by Mark Welcome of Interactive Solutions.
