26th Advanced Manufacturing Technology Capstone Ceremony
Noon to 1:30 p.m., Bulmer Telecommunications Center Auditorium
The annual Capstone Ceremony celebrates the academic achievement of Advanced Manufacturing Technology students and the completion of the capstone models built during the past year.
A student-built capstone model – a 5-cylinder working radial air-engine – is presented to each AMT program sponsor: Simmons Machine Tool, Gene Haas Foundation, Blanchard Industrial Supplies, Allendale Machinery Systems, General Electric Power, Benet Labs, Package One, Atlas Copco, WIDIA, Thermo Fab, Mastercam, DK Machine and the Chief Executives Network. All students are recognized individually during the ceremony, and those with the highest GPA will receive awards ranging from $250 to $1,000. One student also is chosen by a drawing to receive one of the 2019 models.
Immediately following the ceremony, a tour of the new Gene F. Haas Center for Advanced Manufacturing Skills (CAMS) will be available for all those wishing to attend.
