Known problem with library databases linking to full text

Linking to full-text journal articles through individual library research databases from EBSCO has been unreliable this semester. The vendor is aware of the problem and is working to resolve it. Some of the affected research databases include Academic Search Complete, Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Collection, Education Source, Humanities Source, and SportDiscuss with Fulltext. Here are several suggested alternatives:

Use OneSearch, the search option provided on the library web site. OneSearch linking has remained reliable. OneSearch searches multiple databases simultaneously so individual EBSCO database full-text results are included and properly linked.

Search individual non-EBSCO databases such as JSTOR for humanities, ScienceDirect for social sciences, and Academic OneFile for general searches. These and dozens of other library online resources provide high quality, scholarly content that can be used in research papers.  Note that OneSearch also searches these databases when queried.

The library’s alphabetical listing of research databases and online researches can be found online.

Get help from a librarian by walking in to the Writing and Research Center during library hours, making a research appointment, or asking for assistance online.

When the linking issue is resolved, an update will be posted.  The library regrets any inconvenience to students and faculty. Comments and suggestions regarding library services are always welcome; contact Library Director Brenda Hazard.
