Alumnus Ryan Smithson, an author and Army veteran, will host an adaptation of his memoir “Ghosts of War: The True Story of a 19-Year-Old GI,” at the university this week.
What began as an essay for a Hudson Valley Community College English class turned into much more when Ryan compiled his writings into his memoir, which was published by Collins in 2009. An adaptation of his book will be staged Wednesday, Nov. 1 at the university. Chicago’s Griffin Theatre Company has adapted Smithson’s book for the stage.
