“See you in November.
See you when the paper’s through.
Here we are
Saying “Hello” down in Marvin.
Term paper’s due soon,
So bring it our waaaay.”
During the fall of 1966, a musical group called “The Happenings” reached number three on the Billboard charts with a song called “See You in September,” a song about two lovers who had to be apart for the summer. (Check it out on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xgCt-F22Ex0.)
This year, however, the Learning Centers are tweaking that title to encourage students to visit The Writing Center for Write All Night on Wednesday November 28, roughly a week after Thanksgiving.
For the eleventh consecutive semester, the Learning Centers are sponsoring “Write All Night” on the lower level of The Marvin Library. (A previous announcement mistakenly mentioned the location as the upper level.) On this particular evening, The Writing and Research Center will be open for an additional two hours – from 10 p.m. to Midnight – so students can work in an academic environment with professional help nearby.
Writing specialists can answer organizational questions and provide general feedback on both short essays and longer research projects. In addition, numerous computers and printers will be available for student use along with various handouts and resources that can help students finish those research papers that may require citations in MLA, APA, or Chicago Manual style.
