George Raneri, who has served as secretary to the college’s Board of Trustees for the past 18 years and previously served as a trustee from 1981 through 1998, has been named secretary for the New York Community College Trustees (NYCCT).
NYCCT is a non-profit consortium of community college trustees who work to strengthen the effectiveness of the state’s community college governing boards in the development and implementation of public policy.
Raneri, who has served as Hudson Valley’s appointed delegate to NYCCT for 34 years, will serve as secretary for the statewide board and also join its executive committee.
In 2009, he was the recipient of the NYCCT Alice Holloway Young Award for Distinguished Service, which signifies service to a community college after the trustee’s retirement from the board.
