Merit announcement of dean’s and president’s list for fall term

This is just a reminder that the college uses a software called Merit to announce a variety of student accomplishments – scholarships, deans’ and president’s lists and graduation, to name a few.

Today, we posted the recipients of the fall dean’s and president’s list. Since we’ve been using Merit, its capabilities have grown substantially and in addition to allowing our students to create an online “resume” of college verified achievements, it also allows those students to share them on their social media platforms and also, in certain cases, informs the student’s high school of the achievement, allowing them to share the good news as well.

Merit also allows Hudson Valley to link with other universities using the software and promote the great things our alumni are doing at their transfer institutions. For example, one of our alumni was just recognized for participation in a athletic team at SUNY Oswego, and another was noted for an academic honor at RIT.

Merit is only as successful as we make it. If you or your department have an accomplishment that you would like recognized, please contact Eric Bryant at e.bryant@hvcc.edu or x8072. We would like to recognize students for:

  • taking part in extracurricular activities
  • being named to academic honor societies
  • taking leadership roles in student clubs and organizations
