Moment of silence for shooting victims

Schools and other institutions across the United States plan to honor a moment of silence at 9:30 a.m. today in honor of the victims of the Dec. 14 mass shooting in Newtown, CT.

Governor Daniel Malloy’s request for the tribute across Connecticut on the one-week anniversary of the tragedy quickly has spread nationwide. Many churches also will toll bells once for each of the 26 victims at the same time.
