What if you were asked to make a cake using only materials from your career field or discipline? That is exactly what students at the Capital District Educational Opportunity Center were asked to do and the outcome was nothing less than uniquely creative works of art.
With the help of EOC faculty members, students designed and created cakes that were then put on display for all students, faculty and staff for view during two separate openings on Jan. 25 and Jan. 29 at the EOC’s Troy and Albany locations, respectively. The cakes ranged from welded steel from the Welding Department, to a mountainous scene, complete with a running waterfall from the Building Trades Department.
