In a continuing effort to ensure students are familiar with and take advantage of the abundant support services on campus, a new initiative will offer an opportunity for key departments to share services, upcoming events, financial aid/scholarships, learning assistance, leadership, transfer and employment opportunities, college policies and important dates on the academic calendar.
The Support Services Showcase will be offered on Wednesdays, 11:30 am-1 pm, on the first floor of the Siek Campus Center.
Representative from support services departments will have designated information tables to capture students in a “college fair” environment. The Showcase is offered during the weekly “free” pizza lunch hour where the traffic in the campus center is the busiest, according to Louis Coplin, director of Educational Opportunity Program and Student Life.
Coplin said the effort is important because “students need reminders of the help that’s available and sometimes the best way to share information is to offer it where students congregate.”
Please encourage your students to visit the fair, while enjoying their pizza!
