Men’s basketball (10-15) dropped both of their games last week as Columbia-Greene defeated the Vikings, 99-88, on Wednesday, Feb. 14 and Mohawk Valley defeated Hudson Valley, 83-56, on Saturday, Feb. 17.
In the game against Columbia-Greene, Steven Clarke (New Hempstead/Spring Valley) led five Vikings in double-digit scoring as he finished with a team-high 19 points. Clarke hit eight field goals and a pair of free throws. Mitchell Dame (Niskayuna/Niskayuna) and David Reo (North Greenbush/Catholic Central) each finished with 14 points with Reo hitting a pair of three-point field goals.
Against Mohawk Valley, Reo took over the offensive output for the Vikings as he scored 12 of his team-high 17 points after the break. As a team, the Vikings struggled to find baskets and scored only 21 points in the final 20 minutes of the game.

Women’s basketball (15-10) dropped both games last week to Columbia-Greene (76-57) and Mohawk Valley (88-62).
In the Columbia-Greene game, Hayley Jones (Catskill/Catskill) led all of the Vikings starters with 13 points and six rebounds. Jones shot 5-for-10 from the floor and hit a pair of three-point field goals.
Against Mohawk Valley, Hannah Kreiger (Brunswick/Tamarac) led three Vikings in double-digit scoring as she finished with a game-high 20 points, including four three-point field goals. Kreiger scored 14 of her 20 total points in the final quarter of the game.

Men’s and women’s bowling participated in the NJCAA Region 3 tournament on Sunday, Feb. 18 in Utica, N.Y., hosted by Mohawk Valley. The final results were not available at the time of this post. Please visit athletics.hvcc.edu later in the day for the results and recap.
