Soon spring will be upon us and you will be thinking about flowers growing and trees blooming, and I will be thinking about cell phone recycling. As part of Earth Month every April, I do a collection of your old or broken cell phones to benefit the FSA Food Bank and to help domestic violence victims.
Please look around and if you have an old phone you don’t use or even a phone that is broken into pieces, please bring them to me for recycling. The phones that can be re-purposed go to domestic violence victims to use in emergencies and the profit from the phones will go to the food bank. If possible, please bring the charger, battery and sim card with the phone you’re donating as these can be use with re-purposed phones. If you don’t have all the parts, don’t worry; they will just recycle them.
I have been using a company called e-cycle for years and they are a trusted company. Here is a link to its web page https://www.e-cycle.com/. Check them out yourself.
Please either send your phones to Carlene in HGB 119 or bring them to the Viking’s Cove Bookstore; there will be a collection box there.
Thank you for your donations!
