Removal of asbestos-containing floor tile, carpeting and mastic (glue) will be conducted in Williams Hall and Brahan Hall beginning June 13. Specific Rooms impacted in Williams Hall include: 113, 114 (custodial closet), 123, 126, 127, 128 and 138. The only room impacted in Brahan is 112.
The Williams hallway will be barricaded for approximately one week, with no access to the BST and Automotive faculty offices. Access will be maintained to all classrooms in use during this period. The abatement is expected to last one week with an additional week scheduled for re-carpeting and moving back in.
The removal will be conducted by NRC, a licensed asbestos abatement contractor. Project monitoring and air monitoring will be conducted by PSI, an environmental and asbestos consultant, to ensure NYS Asbestos regulations are followed.
