The college’s Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) received a grant from the State University of New York Office of Opportunity Programs to coordinate a pre-freshman summer program for 30 students who plan to enroll in EOP for the fall semester.
Research has revealed that students who participate in pre-freshman summer programs increase the potential for long-term academic success. For students who are considered academically at-risk, exposure to pre-freshman summer programs is especially important as academic skills are strengthened, the process of student engagement is initiated and students are able to cultivate early relationships with both their peers and campus administrators.
The two-week summer program will commence Monday, July 23 and close on Aug. 2. For more information, please contact Louis Coplin at (518) 629-7307.
