The Friends of Oakwood’s popular Family Scavenger Hunt returns!

FAMILY SCAVENGER HUNT
The Friends’s popular Scavenger Hunt ventures into new territory at Oakwood Cemetery this year and costs only $10 per family, payable upon arrival. Two levels of clues will be given for older and younger children, and every child who completes the hunt receives a prize. This event is always a fun and educational evening for the whole family. Dress for the weather. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Participants meet at the chapel flagpole and caravan to the hunt location.

TWILIGHT TOUR
This is a great opportunity to see the Oakwood Cemetery in the early evening and hear fascinating stories surrounding the many monuments for Civil War generals, the founding fathers of Troy, and some interesting residents newly added to our tour. Highlights are Uncle Sam’s grave, the Earl Chapel and the panoramic overlook at sunset! If the sky is clear, a full moon should be visible at the close of the tour.
Please call (518) 328-0090 to register and pay upon arrival, $15 per person. (Children under 12 are free.) Most tours are rain or shine, but check Facebook (Oakwood Cemetery Troy NY) if weather is a concern. The group assembles at the flag pole outside the Earl Memorial Chapel.
Proceeds of events hosted by the all-volunteer Friends of Oakwood support the preservation and maintenance of the historic Earl Chapel and the beautiful grounds of Oakwood Cemetery.
