Hudson Valley Community College students are encouraged to put on hats and gloves and participate in the Spring Snow Sculpture contest on Friday, March 22 beginning at 12:30 p.m. in the Campus Quad. All sculptures must be completed by 1:15 p.m. to be eligible for judging. Students may participate individually or in teams and must register in advance at the Student Activities Office, Room 210 (second floor) in the Siek Campus Center.
There are no design requirements, according to Assistant Director of Student Life Alfredo Balarin. “This is an opportunity for students to show off their creativity while having fun and socializing. We hope everyone on campus will come around to enjoy the results, and to support our students.”
Prizes will be awarded in the form of gifts certificates of $100 for Viking’s Cove Book Store, $50 for Price Chopper Supermarkets and $25 for Regal Cinemas to the three winning sculptures. Everyone receives a gift for participating.
