Sustainability Committee meeting on Sept. 10

The Sustainability Committee will meet on Monday, Sept. 10 from 2 to 2:30 p.m. in BTC Meeting Room 1. We will discuss 2017/2018 activities and plan for 2018/2019.

Two especially exciting projects launching in 2018/2019 are a NYSERDA grant for a campus-wide energy master plan and NYCARES, a consortium of over 20 public and private NYS higher education institutions formed to competitively procure power from new Large Scale Renewable Energy (LSRE) projects.

The mission of the Environmental Sustainability Committee is to promote sustainability at Hudson Valley Community College by encouraging the conservation and efficient use of natural resources on campus, initiating projects that reduce the college’s environmental impact and to educate the college community in the concepts of sustainable living and demonstrate the economic and other benefits of sustainability.

Please attend the meeting if you are interested in getting involved with sustainability on campus or just want to learn more about the committee and sustainability at Hudson Valley. Students are especially welcome!

Please contact Laurie Vivekanand (l.vivekanand@hvcc.edu) with any questions about the committee or sustainability on campus.
