The Theatre Arts Program will hold auditions for the play Moonchildren by Michael Weller on Wednesday, Sept. 19 from 4 to 7 pm, and on Thursday, Sept. 20 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Maureen Stapleton Theatre.
Auditioners need to attend only one audition session. No preparation or experience is required. Auditioners will be asked to do a cold reading with material provided from the script. For further information, please contact Rosanne Raneri, faculty director, at r.raneri@hvcc.edu.
This compelling comedy chronicles a year in the life of eight college students living communally in an off-campus apartment in the late 1960s. In addition to facing challenges in their relationships, they experience the impact and implications of the Vietnam War.
Moonchildren has been called “a stunning work that has weathered the years to become that rarity, a contemporary play that while rooted in the era in which it was written, remains contemporary because its underlying themes are universal and unchanging.”
