Fine Arts, Theatre Arts and Digital Media Dept. hosts panel for students looking to transfer

On Tuesday, Oct. 9, the Fine Arts, Theatre Arts and Digital Media Department faculty members hosted a “Next Steps Panel Discussion and Q and A” in the BTC Meeting Rooms that attracted 90 students from that department.

The moderator was Julie Pamkowski, adjunct photography instructor, and panelists were Thomas Lail, professor of Fine Arts; Tara Fracalossi, assistant professor of Fine Arts, and Kyra Garrigue and Justin Baker, both Digital Media instructors. Other departement faculty members also attended the panel.

Panelists discussed the importance of attending presentations of the transfer colleges and asking the right questions of transfer colleges they visit. The panelists also provided guidance in the preparation of digital and live portfolios, and shared other helpful information that students should know when applying for transfer.

Given the success of this inaugural event, the department hopes to make it an annual event.

Thank you to our host and panelists, to the professors who brought their classes, to Benj Gleeksman for designing the promotional poster, and to Alice Busman, department program assistant, for arranging for the space and time slot.
