Kathleen Petley receives SUNY Registrar’s Association award

 

Registrar Kathleen Petley received the SUNY Registrar’s Association Award for Professional Excellence during the organization’s fall conference held Oct. 10 to 12 in Saratoga Springs. The Professional Excellence Award and a President’s Award were presented for the first time in 2017.

Ms. Petley has been a SUNYRA member since 1992 and served as regional vice president from 1996 to 1998. She also served as secretary (2006-2008) and treasurer (2008-2011), and currently is a member of the Micro-credential Transferability and Portability Team. From 2015-2016, she was part of the workgroup tasked with developing a SUNY master agreement for electronic transcript processing.

She joined the college’s administrative staff in 1987 and was named registrar in 2002. From 2007-2008, she served as interim director of the Center for Careers and Employment.

According to its website, SUNYRA’s mission is to “promote and provide for the exchange of information and ideas regarding current and proposed policies and procedures affecting a registrar’s responsibility and accountability” throughout State University of New York college and universities.
