The Liberal Arts HonorScholars are collecting items to fill Goodnight Bags for children at Equinox’s Domestic Violence Shelter. This shelter is Albany County’s only shelter for survivors of domestic violence. Imagine having to leave your home to get away from someone who is abusive and violent. The shelter is a safe haven for men, women and their children. The special bags make a child’s stay as ”homey” as possible.
Items to donate include hygiene products, small pillows, blankets, twin sheets, towels, wash clothes, stuffed animals, coloring books and crayons, pens and pencils, bottled water, snacks (pre-packaged not homemade), flashlight or nightlight, journal or sketch pad, or any item you feel a child might need or want while away from home.
Liberal Arts HonorScholars have placed donation boxes at the following locations:
BTC Lobby
Dwight Marvin Library
Liberal Arts Advisement Center, FTZ 334
Science Building Cafe
Student Activities Office, CTR 210
Williams Hall
Students will check and empty these boxes daily.
