Please see below for a listing of several college organizational changes.
- Following Vice President Michael Green’s recent retirement announcement, effective Dec. 1, Kathy Petley will serve as the Interim Executive Director of Institutional Assessment and Planning. She will report to the president and also join the Executive Management (formerly called Senior Staff) team. Ian LaChance will become Interim Registrar, and Kathy will provide consultation to the Registrar’s Office as necessary.
- Effective Dec. 21, Information Technology Services will report to Vice President Bill Reuter and also will oversee the Instructional (Updated from Support to Technology – 8:55 a.m.) Technology Services and Viking Video Technologies staff.
- The Financial Aid Office will move from the division of Administration and Finance to Enrollment Management and Student Development, reporting to Interim Vice President Louis Coplin. This change aims to strengthen new student recruitment, persistence and retention efforts and reflects a more traditional college organizational structure.
As you may know, Dean of Educational Outreach and Academic Services Chris Helwig officially retired in July. While Chris has extended her service to the college on a part-time basis through the fall 2018 semester, several areas she oversees are now being reorganized:
- In addition to managing Community and Professional Education, Deb Shoemaker will oversee the Office of High School Programs and Educational Outreach as well as the Distance Learning Office.
- Scheduling Officer Erin Hatter will report to the Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. MaryAnn Janosik.
- The Center for Effective Teaching will report to the Dean of Retention and Instructional Support Services Karen Ferrer-Muniz.
In addition, the position description for the Dean of STEM is now complete. Following discussions with department chairs, the new dean will oversee (Updated with addition of architecture and electrical technology programs; excludes industrial tech – 9:29 a.m.) Biology, Chemistry and Physics; Architecture, Civil, Construction and Mechanical Technologies; Electrical Engineering Technology and Electrical Technology-Semiconductor Manufacturing; and Math and Engineering Science. The position will be posted this month as the search committee is finalized.
Finally, the college is continuing the search for the Director of Distance Learning. More information will be shared as the search progresses.
