A few tickets available for Stephen Sondheim this evening!

“An Evening with Stephen Sondheim” on Tuesday, May 7 in the Maureen Stapleton Theatre beginning at 6:30 p.m. with a prelude concert and reception.

Tickets are available in GUN 267 until noon today — if they last that long!
$25 per ticket; cash, check or charge (Discover, Master Card, Visa). HVCC students receive one free ticket with their ID.

Seating is general admission.

The evening will include an onstage interview with the renowned composer and lyricist conducted by Mary Darcy, owner/editor of alloveralbany.com, beginning at 7:30 p.m. The prelude concert at 6:30 p.m. will feature the Sonny Daye & Perley Rousseau Trio.

The event is presented by the college’s Cultural Affairs Program.

Most celebrated for his contributions to the Broadway stage, Sondheim has been described by the New York Times as “the greatest and perhaps best known artist working in musical theatre.” His most famous works include “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum,” “Company,” “Follies,” “A Little Night Music,” “Sweeney Todd,” “Sunday in the Park with George” and “Into the Woods.” He is the winner of eight Tony Awards (more than any other composer), including the Special Tony Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre, an Oscar, a Pulitzer Prize and eight Grammys.
