The Office of Workforce Development, in cooperation with the New York State Historic Preservation Office and the Historic Albany Foundation, is pleased to offer the NEW Historic Preservation Carpentry I course in historic building restoration!
This introductory course covers the basics of both preservation carpentry and building conservation, and will provide you with a working knowledge of basic carpentry skills and practices, as well as historical construction methods. Construction styles from the 18th to the 20th century will be discussed and studied and you will be introduced to the various styles and forms of buildings which you may encounter. This course includes both lecture and hands-on lab components.

40 hours, 4 CEUs, Non-Credit
Tuition: $775
Please Note: Students in this course must take an OSHA 10-hour Construction safety course before the course ends. This course provides knowledge of the most common safety and health hazards found on construction sites and is available online from numerous sources.
