Over the semester break, the Center for Access and Assistive Technology (CAAT) has updated its testing procedures in order to improve delivery of testing services, as well as to ensure compliance with applicable laws regarding testing accommodations and processes.
The provision of accommodations is a shared responsibility between the CAAT staff, students, and instructors. We encourage your participation and appreciate any feedback or questions you may have.
Here is what to expect:
Students seeking testing accommodations with the CAAT will request a seat via an online reservation system on our CAAT Services webpage.
Once students make a request for test proctoring, the instructor will automatically receive an email notification with the student’s reservation details. The message will include a link to the CAAT’s secure system where instructors can upload their assessments and provide proctoring instructions, similar to the previous Proctor Checklist form.
The entire online process for both student and staff is password protected and encrypted. We will continue to return exams in the same manner as before, via instructor pick-up or student drop-off.
Thank you for your support in this update. Last semester, the CAAT proctored over 2,100 exams. This would not have been possible without your cooperation.
