This week in athletics

 

National Rankings
The men’s team entered last week ranked ninth and the women’s program entered last week just outside of the top-10 and was listed as receiving votes for the second consecutive week.

Women’s Basketball
Women’s basketball has been on a roll as they have now won 11 straight games after a 3-0 week, which included wins at home over Fulton-Montgomery, Herkimer and Broome. The women’s team is now 17-3 on the year with a month remaining in the season.

Men’s Basketball
The men’s basketball team had a tough week facing their toughest competition of the season. The men finished the week with a 2-2 record, which included wins over Dutchess and Broome. Hudson Valley dropped tough games to No. 2 ranked Herkimer and a Fulton-Montgomery team that has only lost one game to date. The men are now 15-5 on the year with a month remaining in the season.

Men’s and Women’s Bowling
The bowling team had great success over the weekend as they finished in third place at the Westchester Shootout on Saturday and placed second on Sunday at the Westchester Classic. The doubles team of Catherine Lynch and Christian Caputo won the doubles portion of the Westchester Shootout.

Sunday (Feb. 3): Bowling at Schenectady Invitational (8:15 a.m.)
