Public Safety’s mission is to provide a safe, secure atmosphere at Hudson Valley Community College, one that is conducive to freedom of expression and movement for people and their property within the constraints of federal, state and local laws and ordinances.

- Respond to all car accidents and complete appropriate reports. Enforce parking and driving regulations.
- Investigate all crimes on campus and complete appropriate reports. Cooperate and maintain relations with all surrounding police departments
- Assist victims of crimes, sexual harassment, etc., and assist disabled individuals through our Emotionally Disturbed Persons Response Team (EDPRT).
- Provide crime prevention and safety training to students/staff through College Forums and other presentations including Sexual Assault safety/prevention and Emergency Preparedness (Run, Hide, Fight).
- Maintain outdoor emergency phones and proper lighting.
