New director of College Learning Centers joins the college

 

Join us in welcoming the new director of the College Learning Centers, Marcy Pendergast.

Marcy received her bachelor’s degree in psychology and her master’s degree in education in counseling with a concentration in college student personnel from The College of Saint Rose. She worked for almost 16 years in academic support services at her alma mater and became the executive director of the college’s Academic Success Center.

Marcy is passionate about supporting college students along their journey to becoming more academically confident and successful. She is very excited about the opportunity to work with and support the students here at Hudson Valley Community College.

Marcy will oversees the daily operations of the College Learning Centers: Computer Learning Center, Learning Assistance Center Math-Learning Strategies-Instruction in other content areas; and Writing Center, all of which are located in the Marvin Library Learning Commons. The Learning Centers provide instructional academic support to all Hudson Valley students under the deanship of Retention and Instructional Support Services.
