Meeting Monday: Cat, cats everywhere!

The Animal Outreach Club will host a meeting on the topics of cats under the law,  the very real crisis of domestic cat/feral cat overpopulation in the region, New York State, and the country; and what we as citizens can do about it. The meeting will be held on Monday, Nov. 18 at 2 p.m. in the Marvin Library Multipurpose Room.

Speakers will include Terri Cook, animal control officer; Donna Farnsworth, C.A.A., and Linda Nadeau, C.A.A.

All are welcome.

New York State only requires dog control, by law.  Some municipalities offer animal control, which includes seizing stray or injured cats and bringing them to the municipality’s contracted animal shelter, but animal control is not required in New York State. This lack of oversight strains private rescues which cannot possibly absorb the load.
