The campus community is invited to the 31st annual Special Programs Awards Ceremony on Friday, May 3 from noon to 1 p.m. in the BTC Auditorium.
The ceremony recognizes the academic achievements for students who participate in the 24-credit hour program, Center for Academic Engagement (CAE), the Center for Access and Assistive Technology (CAAT), the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) and the International Students Affairs Department.
More than 260 students will receive a certificate of academic achievement. Select students from each program will be recognized with an award forthe highest grade point average, as well as special recognition for various accomplishments during the academic year.
Louis Vendetti, a member of the Class of 2018, will offer congratulatory remarks as the guest speaker, and Suzanne Garhart, associate professor and academic advisor in the Individual Studies Department, will receive the Special Program Committee’s Life Time Achievement Award for exceptional teaching, advising, and mentoring students at Hudson Valley Community College.
