All faculty and staff are welcome to attend the 35th annual Faculty/Staff Honors Convocation at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 9 in the Maureen Stapleton Theatre to witness the presentation of the 2019 SUNY Chancellor’s Awards for Excellence and 2019 President’s Awards. Emeritus faculty, faculty promotions, merit awards, and certificates earned through the Center for Effective Teaching also will be recognized.
Faculty and staff planning to march in the academic procession should come to the Siek Campus Center, room 294 by 4 p.m. in academic regalia to line up for the academic procession.
The unveiling of the Chancellor’s Award plaques and a reception will follow the ceremony in the lobby of the Guenther Enrollment Services Center.
The recipients of the 2019 Chancellor’s Awards for Excellence are:
- Adjunct Teaching: Christina T. Henchey, adjunct instructor, Dental Hygiene
- Classified Service: Sherri M. Wait, program assistant, Academics III, Office of the Dean of the School of Business and the School of Industrial and Mechanical Technologies
- Faculty Service: David P. Larkin, professor, Automotive, Manufacturing and Electrical Engineering Technologies
- Librarianship: Cynthia L. Koman, assistant professor/faculty librarian
- Professional Service: Doreen C. McGreevy, academic coach, Center for Academic Engagement
- Teaching: Tammy J. Conway, associate professor, Dental Hygiene
- Teaching: James J. LaBate, professor and writing specialist, Writing and Research Center, Learning Assistance Center
- Teaching: John M. Meehan, associate professor, Business Administration
In addition, two faculty members will receive the 2019 President’s Award for Excellence in Teaching. They are:
- Thomas R. Lail, professor, Fine Arts, Theatre Arts and Digital Media
- Ann Ruecker, adjunct instructor, Human Services and Chemical Dependency Counseling
