Strategic Plan Steering Committee Update and Quick Survey

As we approach the end of the semester, please see below for an update on the development of the college’s Strategic Plan.

As part of our process, please consider completing a brief survey covering the current mission, vision and statement of commitment. In addition, the survey introduces new core values for Hudson Valley Community College for consideration.

  • Minutes from the steering committee’s March 27 meeting are now posted in college’s Strategic Plan Blackboard organization.
  • A draft of the Strategic Plan was shared with faculty and staff on Monday, April 8 and presented at the Academic Senate meeting on Monday, April 29.
  • The Senate’s Planning Committee reviewed the history and process of planning activities and approved the plan’s priorities and goals during its May 6 meeting.
  • The full body of the Senate will vote on the priorities and goals at its May 13 meeting. If approved, the Board of Trustees vote will follow during its May 28 meeting.
  • Teams within the Steering Committee will now begin to focus on implementation tactics for each of the plan’s six strategic priority areas: Commit to Student Success, Inclusion and Equality; Enhance Academic Programming; Optimize Enrollment; Encourage Faculty and Staff Excellence; Expand Partnerships and Community Engagement; and Reinvigorate Campus Culture and Infrastructure.

The Strategic Plan Steering Committee will review these guiding principles during the summer, and we will appreciate any input from the college community. Please complete the brief online survey to share your thoughts. Final approval is anticipated in the fall semester.

Please feel free reach out to us or to Dr. Will Miller via email (wmiller@campuslabs.com) or phone, (904) 495-3574, with any questions or thoughts.

Thank you,

Dennis Kennedy and Kathy Petley
Co-chairs, Strategic Plan Steering Committee
