Join SUNY Pride on Sunday, June 30 in NYC

 

SUNY again will participate in the NYC/World Pride parade and celebration. The 2019 event on Sunday, June 30 will be the culmination of a month-long observance marking the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots.

SUNY is offering three opportunities to participate:

Capital PRIDE Parade & Festival
Sunday, June 9 from noon to 5 p.m.
The State University of New York will participate in the Capital Pride Parade & Festival to take place in and around Albany’s historic Washington Park. Please click here for more information and to register.

SUNY Pride Student Workshops and Block Party in NYC
Friday, June 21
As part of the month-long celebration in NYC, SUNY Pride will host a full day of activities for all students and the general public. Please click here for more information. The day includes a keynote session featuring Actor/Activist Antuan Raimone, DJ Zeke Thomas, and other special guests to be announced. (Please click here to register.)

NYC/WORLD PRIDE 2019
Sunday, June 30
For the first time in its 20-year history, WorldPride, the global celebration of LGBTQI+ issues, will take place in the United States. More than three million people are expected to participate in the month-long event the will coincide with NYC Pride march (on June 30) and the 50th Anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising (June 28-July 1, 1969). Participation in any of these events is free, but please register at the appropriate link above if you plan to march with SUNY. Transportation to/from the event locations is not provided.
