June 1 & 2: Advanced Study in Drawing & Painting exhibit moves to Omi International Arts Center Copy

 

For the sixth consecutive year, the year-end thesis exhibition by students enrolled in Advanced Study in Drawing and Painting will travel to the Omi International Arts Center’s Education Pavilions in Ghent for display on Saturday and Sunday, June 1 and 2 only. A reception with the artists will be held from 3 to 4:40 p.m. on June 2.

Students featured in this year’s exhibition, entitled “Within a Saturated Environment,” are Jennie Buckley, Katriona Howell, Derek Lamani, Andrea Lowry, Mikayla M., John McCabe, Hannah Meacham, @_collin_moore, Renee M Piazza, Jan Samuel Redman, Makayla Sink- Fagan and Hannah Marie Tremblay. Statements by each artist are included in the exhibition catalogue that includes an opening essay by Professor Thomas Lail.

Lail teaches Advanced Study in Drawing and Painting, an academic year-long course of guided study for Fine Arts Department students who have completed foundation arts courses and wish to pursue the development of their own body of work. “Within a Saturated Environment” was on view in college’s The Teaching Gallery from April 5 to 13.
