A series of Town Hall/Student Engagements meetings are scheduled during the semester to ensure students are reminded of academic support services, college policies, student expectations, and important dates on the academic calendar.
The Town Hall meetings will be held monthly at two sites: the College Suites Apartment Complex and on campus.
Sandra McCarthy, Title IX officer and campus coordinator for the the Judicial Due Process, will facilitate the Town Hall meetings at College Suites. Emphasis will be placed on student behavioral issues, the student code of conduct, tenant responsibilities, and support services. (More than 200 Hudson Valley students reside at College Suites.) The first in a series of meetings are scheduled for 4 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 9; Tuesday, Sept. 10 and Wednesday, Sept. 11.
The first on-campus meeting on 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25 in the BTC Meeting Rooms, will be coordinated by Kailey Loucks, director of the Freshman Year Experience, and Ian LaChance, registrar. The on-campus meetings will focus on the academic calendar, campus activities, support services, satisfactory academic progress, and academic advisement.
“It’s vital that we consistently remind our students of support services, college policies, student expectations, and important dates on the academic calendar,” according to Louis Coplin, vice president for Student Affairs. “We are committed to ensure students meet their goals and the college fulfill its mission.”
