The first-ever Hudson Valley Community College Guitar Festival is a “hands on” celebration of electric, steel and nylon-string guitar styles and bass guitar. Workshop facilitators, guitarists and luthiers have been selected exclusively from New York’s Capital Region. Showcased music styles are blues, bluegrass, classical, flamenco, gypsy jazz, metal, rock and roll, rhythm and blues, roots rockabilly and western swing.
The two-day festival — including an OPEN MIC, performances and demonstrations in addition to the multiple workshops — will be held on Friday and Saturday, April 4 and 5 in the Siek Campus Center and Maureen Stapleton Theatre. A concert featuring the Finger Lakes Guitar Quartet closes the event at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
