Seeking advisor for Animal Outreach Club

The Animal Outreach Club has been one of the most vibrant and active student clubs since its inception following Hurricane Katrina in 2005. We have hosted nationally renowned speakers with support from the Cultural Affairs Program, collaborated with the Center for Service Learning and Civic Engagement, worked with Civil, Construction, Industrial and Mechanical Technologies to build shelters for homeless cats, taken awe-inspiring field trips, raised much-needed funds for animals in need through the Empties for Animals initiative, and served as a voice in the community for humane education. We have had exceptional students with vision and commitment.

After 14 years as faculty advisor to the Animal Outreach Club, it is time to pass the torch.

Working with Louis, Alfredo, Laurie and all in Student Activities is a pleasure. Their commitment to the well-being and growth of the students dictates everything they do. There are so many opportunities for clubs to make a difference thanks to their support.

Please consider serving as an advisor along with Assistant Professor Alan Joseph to this deeply rewarding, productive club. The club’s website (https://clubs.hvcc.edu/wordpress/animaloutreach/events/) provides an idea of what we do, and I am happy to answer questions or serve as a resource for anyone interested in fulfilling this role.
