Workforce Development offers Historic Masonry – Treatments & Repair beginning Oct. 2

 

The Office of Workforce Development, in cooperation with the New York State Historic Preservation Office and the Historic Albany Foundation, is pleased to once again offer the Historic Masonry – Treatments & Repair course.

This course will provide participants with hands-on training in the traditional trade of masonry restoration, including documentation, cleaning, pointing, repairing and coatings.

Students will:

  • Plan and execute a masonry rehabilitation project with other members of the class.
  • Understand the treatment and repair process through lectures, observation and hands-on repair at historic sites located in the Capital Region.
  • Gain an understanding of masonry materials and their construction systems used in 19th and 20th century buildings and learn hands-on techniques for treatment and repair.

Oct. 2  – Nov. 20, 2019
Wednesdays, 6 – 9 p.m.
Saturdays (10/5, 10/19, 11/2, 11/16), 9 a.m. – 1 p.m
