The Rensselaer County Department of Health, in conjunction with the Rensselaer County Bureau of Public Safety and Hudson Valley Community College, will conduct a Medical Countermeasures Distribution Drill on the college campus on Wednesday, Sept. 25 from approximately 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The drill is designed to simulate the process of receiving lifesaving medications into Rensselaer County and further distributing them to locations where they can be dispensed to the public. The drill will focus on materials management processes and will not involve students or faculty.
Other than the potential for a few additional vehicles and trucks on campus, it is likely most people won’t be aware the drill is taking place. Some police vehicles will be present on campus, primarily in the Lapan Service Building/Central Receiving area.
