Karen Ferrer-Muniz talks about Open Education Resources (OER) at Westchester Community College

 

As part of her year-long service as a SUNY Hispanic Leadership Fellow, Karen Ferrer-Muniz is hosting a discussion of Open Education Resources (OER) in collaboration with Dr. Belinda S. Miles, president of  Westchester  Community College.

Karen Ferrer-Muniz is the Dean of Retention and Instructional Support Services for Hudson Valley Community College, where she oversees advisement, developmental learning, instructional support services and retention. Dean Ferrer-Muniz holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Puerto Rico, a Master of Arts in Latin American and Caribbean Studies, and she is a Ph.D. Candidate in the University at Albany’s Latin American & Caribbean Studies Program. Under her leadership, she has partnered with faculty and staff to increase the adoption of open educational resources, which has led to students saving over $250,000 in textbook purchases.
