Workforce Development’s Electrical Wiring: Principles & Practices starts Nov. 18

 

Electrical Wiring: Principles and Practices is a 32-hour training course that provides the student with entry-level electrical skills. This course provides instruction in performing basic electrical tasks, including recognizing distinguishing characteristics of electrical systems and applying design principles and calculations for electrical distribution systems.

This course will be a mixture of lecture and electrical lab. Electrical safety for residential wiring will be discussed before any hands-on projects will be assigned. Multi-meters will be discussed and demonstrated on live electrical circuits. This course will be a mixture of lecture and electrical lab.

Students are required to bring to class:

• straight and Phillips head screwdrivers
• wire testers
• pliers
• needle nose pliers
• wire strippers for solid wire
• utility knife
• safety glasses

Prerequisites:
A minimum 10th grade level reading and math skills.

Nov. 18 – Dec. 16, 2019
