Continuing Education reorganization announced

The college is restructuring the Office of Continuing Education and non-matriculated student advisement in alignment with best practices of Guided Pathways and following the recent retirement of Associate Dean for Continuing Education and Summer Sessions Rich Bennett.

  • Individual Studies Department Chair Brian Vlieg is now supervising all non-matriculated student advisement, CLEP and Life Experience Programs. This reorganization is consistent with the over-arching mission of Guided Pathways and will ensure the implementation of structured educational experiences from on-boarding to completion.
  • Dean of Economic Development and Workforce Initiatives Penny Hill is now managing all partnerships to provide academic instruction within the workplace, such as the micro-credential announced in April with Northern Rivers Family of Services.
  • Oversight of the college’s evening offerings and summer sessions continues to take place within the division of Academic Affairs in coordination with college deans, academic departments, advisors and the Registrar’s Office.
  • There are no office location or contact changes, and all non-matriculated student advisement will continue to take place in GUN 231.

Updates will be provided to the campus community as additional details of the reorganization are finalized. Please contact Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs Ronalyn Wilson with any questions.
