Katrina’s Closest: Service Learning and Civic Responsibility

Members of Sisters in Cynch and the Student Senate gratefully acknowledge the continued contributions from faculty and staff of slightly-worn career clothing and seasonal items to Katrina’s Closest that has benefited many of our students since 2008.

The club continues to support additional charitable efforts both on and off campus, and in September, the Sisters contributed to a two-day Pop-Up Closet that the Office of the Campus Ministry offered on campus. The success of this student-centered event is captured in the Chaplain Michelle Thivierge’s note of gratitude:

“ ‘Thank you all for the help and promotion with [Septemer’s] Pop-Up Career Closet. We gave away quite a few outfits, accessories and shoes. Even as I was wheeling the racks into Katrina’s Closet, I had theater students trying things on and taking an outfit. Hope we can do it again sometime!’
Thanks again, Michelle”
