Public Safety hosts ninth annual SART Conference on Jan. 16

 

The ninth annual Rensselaer County SART Conference will be held on Thursday, Jan. 16 in the Bulmer Telecommunications Center from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. “Creating Inclusion in Our Communities” is the theme of the 2020 conference, described as “a day for professionals from different disciplines to experience specialized training together.”

The conference is presented by the Sexual Assault & Crime Victims Assistance Program (Samaritan Hospital/St. Peter’s Health Partners) and hosted by the college’s Public Safety Department. Attendance is free, but registration is required by Friday, Jan. 3 at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SARTconference2020.

Keynote presentations will be “Sexual Violence in the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Communities” with Keri Darling and “Technology Safety,” presented by the New York State Computer Crime Unit. Participants also will choose from eight additional workshops to be offered on topics ranging from improving access for persons with disability to  health and healing and military trauma.
