Siena College will be on campus to promote its Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) program, Monday, May 5, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
At 10 a.m., Siena College’s President Father Kevin Mullen and President Drew Matonak will sign an agreement in the Siek Campus Center and admissions representatives will have an information table from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the first floor of the campus center. They will be handing out Finals Week Survival Kits and talking with current Hudson Valley students about the TAG program. Siena mascot Bernie “Saint” Bernard will accompany the Hudson Valley Viking around campus during the morning, informing current students about the TAG program.
Hudson Valley has a long-standing relationship with Siena, and each year about 85 graduates make the transition to the Loudonville college. More than half of Siena’s transfer students come from Hudson Valley, according to their admissions staff.
TAG guarantees qualified Hudson Valley graduates a place at Siena College and serves as a way to connect Hudson Valley students with Siena earlier in their higher education career at Hudson Valley. TAG students have the opportunity to meet once a semester with a Siena transfer advisor to assess program requirements and review course options. TAG students also must meet requirements, which will be outlined by the admissions staff on Monday.
TAG students are also eligible for financial assistance, including two scholarships for transfer students – the $7,000 Franciscan Transfer Scholarship for those with a cumulative GPA between 3.1 and 4.0, and the $14,000 Siena College Phi Theta Scholarship for students who are a member of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society.
