I wish to inform the campus community that the search process for several academic and departmental leadership positions has been completed, and we are pleased to announce the following update:
School of Business and Liberal Arts
Following the retirement of Department Chair Maria Palmara, Tyler Kessel is the new Department Chair for the Department of English, Foreign Languages and English as a Second Language. Dr. Kessel has been a faculty member in the department since 2005.
Ricky Thibodeau, the Chair of the Department of Accounting, Entrepreneurship and Marketing since 2015, will also now oversee the Business Administration and Computing and Information Systems programs. Karen Jones and James Looby have returned to full-time teaching as members of the faculty this spring.
School of Health Sciences
With the retirement of Martha Desmond, Jodi Dorrough has been named the Department Chair for the Department of Nursing and Surgical Technology. She has been a Nursing faculty member since 2015.
Tammy Conway, who has served for the past nine months as interim Department Chair for the Dental Hygiene and Dental Assisting programs, has been named the permanent Department Chair. She has been a Dental Hygiene Department faculty member since 1997.
School of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math
George Raneri, who has served for the past nine months as interim Department Chair for the Department of Automotive, Manufacturing and Electrical Engineering Technologies, will now oversee the Department of Applied Technologies, which will include the following degree and certificate programs: Advanced Manufacturing Technology, Automotive Management, Automotive Technical Services, Automotive Technical Services-Autobody Repair, Clean Energy Management, Computer Aided Drafting, Electrical Construction and Maintenance, Electrical Engineering Technology-Electronics, Electrical Technology: Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology, Heating/Air Conditioning/Refrigeration Technical Services, Overhead Electric Line Worker, Mechatronics and Semiconductor Technology.
Following the retirement of Chris LaPlante, Craig D’Allaird has been named the Department Chair of the Department of Civil, Construction, Industrial and Mechanical Technologies. He has been a faculty member in this department since 2000.
All academic advisement will remain as it was previously structured.
