Craig Stratton, an adjunct instructor for the Human Services and Chemical Dependency Department, was honored as one of several recipients of a 2022 Recovery Advocacy Award. The awards were presented Sept. 10 at Recovery In The Park, an annual event presented by Second Chance Opportunities, at the Washington Park Lake House in Albany.
In addition to the award presentations, the event — a celebration for those in recovery and the individuals and agencies that play an active role in the recovery community — included food and an ice cream truck, a raffle, community resource information, a photo booth and face painting. It was the first, in-person celebration since the pandemic.
Stratton is employed by the NYS Unified Court System and is director of the Albany County Drug Court. A graduate of Hudson Valley Community College’s Chemical Dependency Counseling Program, he earned his B.S. degree from Empire State College and his M.S. degree from Capella University. He also serves as chair of the department’s advisory board.
