Update for faculty: DL Office assisting with final exam conversions into Blackboard

The Distance Learning Office is available to assist faculty with converting and importing their final exams into their online courses in Blackboard. Please note that at this time, this service is for final exams only. You can certainly submit other exam conversion requests, but our office must prioritize accordingly. If you have many exams that you would like converted, we recommend that you attend one of the Respondus trainings below.

If you are interested in taking advantage of this service, please email your final exam and answer key as Word documents to dlstaff@hvcc.edu. Our staff will work on converting your exam and importing it into your course. This process roughly takes about a week or so to complete so please plan accordingly.

Our office uses Respondus, which is a tool for creating and managing assessments.  Many of you may use this on your own already, and there are resources available on our Support and Training page in Blackboard. You’ll want to scroll almost all the way down until you see the title ‘Respondus.‘

Lastly, Van White, who is the new Senior Online Learning Support Specialist, will be running a Respondus training via Zoom for faculty who would like to learn how to use the program and for those seeking a refresher. You can sign up for that training here: https://calendly.com/vanwhite/respondus-training-refresher.

There are two available dates, April 29 and May 1. To sign up for the May 1st date, you’ll need to move the calendar to the month of May. One-on-one sessions can be made available as well. Please contact Van directly at v.white@hvcc.edu to discuss scheduling.

For more information or if you need assistance, please contact dlstaff@hvcc.edu.
